How we protect your information

Effective April 22, 2026

1. Introduction

The Stage ("we", "us", "our") operates thestage.pro and related services for live virtual performances (the "Platform"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit the Platform, purchase tickets, attend shows, stream performances, or interact with other features.

By using the Platform you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information: name, email, password hash, profile photo, country/timezone, and (for performers) your stage name, bio, social handles, and payout preferences.
  • Ticket and transaction data: the shows you buy, tier purchased, order totals, discount codes redeemed, and gifted recipients.
  • Streaming and activity data: show attendance, superchats, tips, meet & greet / after-party / backstage bookings, moderation actions, and technical metadata like device, browser, approximate location, and IP address.
  • Content you submit: messages, comments, fan notes on bookings, show descriptions, artwork, cover images, and any content a performer uploads to run a show.
  • Communications: support emails, form submissions, and responses you send us.

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we learn we have, we will delete it.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your account, authenticate sign-ins, and keep your session active.
  • Process ticket purchases, issue refunds, calculate performer payouts, and detect fraud.
  • Run live streams, enable chat, tips, superchats, and VIP experience scheduling, and deliver replays to ticket holders.
  • Send transactional emails (order confirmations, booking confirmations, account notices, payout updates).
  • Improve the Platform, debug issues, and understand which features are working for our users.
  • Enforce our Terms, respond to legal requests, and protect the safety of our community.

4. How We Share Information

We share personal information only in the ways described below:

  • Service providers: payment processors, streaming infrastructure, transactional email, analytics, and bot/abuse protection services that help us run the Platform.
  • Performers: if you attend or book a VIP experience for a show, that performer's team receives the information needed to deliver the experience (for example, your display name and the time you booked).
  • Legal, safety, and fraud prevention: we may disclose information when required by law, to enforce our Terms, to protect our rights, or to respond to claims.
  • Business transfers: if The Stage is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred subject to this Policy.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

5. Third-Party Services We Use

To run the Platform we rely on a small set of trusted vendors. Their own privacy policies apply to the data they receive:

  • Stripe — payment processing, subscriptions, and payouts.
  • Agora — low-latency HD video and audio streaming for live shows.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile — bot protection on public forms.
  • Abacus.AI — AI and email infrastructure we use to power transactional notifications and select AI features.

6. Cookies & Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, prevent fraud, and measure how the Platform is performing. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling them may limit some functionality (for example, you may be unable to stay signed in).

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active, as long as needed to provide the Platform, or as required to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Request deletion of your information, subject to our legal obligations.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing of your information.
  • Withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent to process your information.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request.

9. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards — encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls, and vendor review — to protect your information. No system is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify you of material breaches as required by law.

10. International Users

The Platform is operated from the United States. If you access it from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the U.S. By using the Platform you consent to this transfer.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by posting the new policy on this page and updating the effective date above. Continued use of the Platform after changes means you accept the updated policy.

12. Contact Us

If you have questions or requests about this Privacy Policy or your information, contact us at [email protected].
